The Preakness is proud to support the U.S. Armed Forces as part of Freedom 250, leading up to America’s 250th Anniversary. As we kick off Preakness 151, we are honored to feature a flyover formation of UH-60 Black Hawks and a CH-47 Chinook, piloted by soldiers from the 29th Combat Aviation Brigade. These helicopters are based at the Maryland Army National Guard’s Weide Airfield at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Edgewood, Maryland.
No Limits Skydiving will be performing a parachute jump in celebration of the 151st Running of the Preakness Stakes and Tribute to the Military on Armed Forces Day. The four skydivers participating have a combined 30,000 jumps with team leader Matthew Fitch having completed over 18,000 skydives. They are all Veterans of the U.S. Military.
