Pimlico Opens Infield On Kentucky Derby Day For Plain White T's Concert

     BALTIMORE, 04-20-11---The Maryland Jockey Club today announced the public Infield will be open on Kentucky Derby Day, Saturday, May 7. The Derby Day Preakness Prep Infield Party at Pimlico Race Course will include concerts by The Plain White T’s and Sons of the Radio in the beer garden. Festivities begin at noon with Pimlico’s live card beginning at 12:45 p.m.

The headline event of the eight-week stand is the 136th running of the $1 million Preakness® Stakes (Grade I), the middle jewel of the Triple Crown, on May 21. The marquee meet of the Maryland racing season, which ends with the Preakness Day card, will feature 22 stakes races for purses of $2.9 million. Preakness weekend features 16 stakes races for nearly $2.5 million.

BALTIMORE, February 28, 2011---For the second consecutive year, Pimlico Race Course and the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the world’s largest breast cancer organization, announced today a partnership to raise funds to aid awareness and research to take place on Black-Eyed Susan Day, Friday, May 20, 2011. Seventy-five percent of the funds raised will go to the Komen Maryland Affiliate to use for community outreach programs in Maryland and twenty-five percent will be used for life-saving breast cancer research.
