Maryland Jockey Club Releases Smartphone App

     BALTIMORE, 05-02-11---The Maryland Jockey Club today announced the release of a free mobile application for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry smartphones.

     The app was available for download on Apple Thursday, April 28 and will provide instant, real-time access to the latest Preakness® Stakes updates, including news releases, historical data, blogs and wagering information.

     The app will be available on Android and BlackBerry later this week.

Pimlico Announces 2011 Alibi Breakfast Award Winners

     BALTIMORE, 04-25-11—Pimlico Race Course today announced the winners of this year’s Preakness media awards. Honorees will be recognized and awards presented at the May 19 Alibi Breakfast in the Terrace Dining Room. The ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., two days prior to the middle jewel of the Triple Crown, the $1 million Preakness® Stakes (Grade I).

Pimlico Opens Infield On Kentucky Derby Day For Plain White T's Concert

     BALTIMORE, 04-20-11---The Maryland Jockey Club today announced the public Infield will be open on Kentucky Derby Day, Saturday, May 7. The Derby Day Preakness Prep Infield Party at Pimlico Race Course will include concerts by The Plain White T’s and Sons of the Radio in the beer garden. Festivities begin at noon with Pimlico’s live card beginning at 12:45 p.m.

Pimlico Spring Meeting Opens Friday Afternoon

     BALTIMORE, 03-30-11---Live racing in Maryland shifts to historic Pimlico Race Course Friday, April 1 for the spring meeting. The headline event of the eight-week stand is the 136th running of the $1 million Preakness® Stakes (Grade I), the middle jewel of the Triple Crown, on May 21. The marquee meet of the Maryland racing season, which ends with the Preakness Day card, will feature 22 stakes races for purses of $2.9 million. Preakness weekend features 16 stakes races for nearly $2.5 million.
