Baltimore, MD, May 16 -- Animal Kingdom continues his Triple Crown quest as the focus of the racing world shifts to Pimlico for the 136th running of the Grade 1, $1 million Preakness Stakes, and HRTV (R) will continue its extensive on-site coverage of the Triple Crown, when it begins live broadcasts from Old Hilltop on Wednesday, May 18. 

Pimlico Race Course Earns Re-Accreditation From The NTRA Safety And Integrity Alliance

BALTIMORE, 05-17-11---The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) announced today that Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore has earned re-accreditation from the NTRA Safety and Integrity Alliance. The re-accreditation followed a complete review of all racing operations at the facility. Pimlico received an initial provisional accreditation from the Alliance in May 2009. The track received full accreditation after a follow-up review in May 2010.  Today’s full re-accreditation carries an effective period of two years.

     BALTIMORE, 05-14-11---Preakness week unofficially started this morning at Pimlico Race Course with the running of the “Down the Stretch for SGK” Preakness 5k. All 784 runners began the race by breaking off through the starting gate. The entire 3.1 mile race took place on Pimlico property, which included one trip around the famous dirt course, finishing in the famed Infield.

     BALTIMORE – 05-13-11 – Trainer Chris Grove loaded Norman Asbjornson onto a van at Bowie Training Center Friday morning for a short ride to Pimlico Race Course, where the 3-year-old colt was given his final workout for the 136th running of the Preakness Stakes on May 21.
