ANIMAL KINGDOM – Trainer Graham Motion sent the Kentucky Derby winner out for his morning gallop in front of about two dozen members of the media at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Fair Hill Training Center in Elkton, Md.

     The Team Valor International homebred colt did his exercise on the all-weather Tapeta track at the facility in rural northeast Maryland, 60 miles from Pimlico Race Course. Motion uses the Tapeta track when Fair Hill’s dirt track is muddy. He said his colt galloped about 1¾ miles.

ANIMAL KINGDOM – Team Valor International’s Kentucky Derby winner galloped 1½ miles over the synthetic Tapeta surface at Fair Hill Training Center Tuesday morning.

     As he did Sunday when rain left the dirt track muddy, trainer Graham Motion opted to train Animal Kingdom on the synthetic surface, which features consistent drainage.

Pimlico Race Course Earns Re-Accreditation From The NTRA Safety And Integrity Alliance

BALTIMORE, 05-17-11---The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) announced today that Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore has earned re-accreditation from the NTRA Safety and Integrity Alliance. The re-accreditation followed a complete review of all racing operations at the facility. Pimlico received an initial provisional accreditation from the Alliance in May 2009. The track received full accreditation after a follow-up review in May 2010.  Today’s full re-accreditation carries an effective period of two years.
