BALTIMORE –Wednesday was jog day at Pimlico Race Course for Reddam Racing LLC’s Nyquist, who has been on a somewhat unusual training schedule of alternating days of jogging and galloping throughout the Kentucky Derby (G1) winner’s unblemished eight-race career.
 

Preakness runners Collected, Laoban and Uncle Lino arrived at Pimilco

BALTIMORE – Preakness runners Collected, Laoban and Uncle Lino arrived at Pimilco on Tuesday afternoon after taking a flight from Louisville, Ky.
 
Uncle Lino was flown from California to Louisville on Tuesday morning. The others had been training at Churchill Downs.
The flight went smoothly, said Jimmy Barnes, assistant to Bob Baffert, who trains Collected.

BALTIMORE – Preakness Day at Pimlico Race Course, featuring the $1.5 million Preakness Stakes (G1) and eight other stakes, will also include six multi-race guaranteed pool totaling $4.15 million.
 
First race post Saturday is 10:30 a.m.

Latin American Racing Channel to Sponsor $100,000 Sir Barton Stakes

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Jockey Club announced today that the Latin American Racing Channel (LARC) will sponsor of the $100,000 Sir Barton Stakes, to be run Saturday, May 21 as part of Preakness Day.
 
Part of the Latin American Racing Channel’s sponsorship will include a check presentation to Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) in the amount of $30,000.

BALTIMORE – Reddam Racing LLC’s Nyquist jogged two miles at Pimlico Race Course Monday morning, taking a break between circuits of the racetrack to school in the paddock in preparation for a highly anticipated start in Saturday’s 141st Preakness Stakes (G1).

The Stronach Group Enters Agreement to Purchase Rosecroft Raceway

BALTIMORE – The Stronach Group announced today it has entered into an agreement with Penn National Gaming Inc., to purchase Rosecroft Raceway.
            
Completion of the purchase is subject to closing conditions, including approval of the Maryland Racing Commission. Conditions expect to be met by the end of June or early July.
