           Dave Kenney is the owner of Westrux International of Santa Fe Springs, Calif., a large trucking transportation dealership with five locations in southern California that specializes in the selling and servicing of diesel vehicles. He also owned Richard’s Kid, winner of the Grade 1 Pacific Classic in 2009 and 2010.

            RAP Racing is the stable name for University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino, a 5 percent stakeholder in Goldencents who in March became the first coach to win NCAA basketball championships with two programs, having done it earlier at the University of Kentucky.

            Glen Sorgenstein and Josh Kaplan comprise W.C. Racing, which has campaigned Grade 2 winners Enriched and Informed.

Rosecrest Farm and Karyn Pirrello

           Goldencents is from the first crop of sire Into Mischief, a Harlan’s Holiday colt who was first or second in all six of his career starts, including a win in the Grade 1 CashCall Futurity in 2007.

            Founded by Chuck and Lyra Miller in 2005, Rosecrest Farm is a modest 150-acre operation in Paris, Ky. Chuck Miller grew up on a ranch and spent his life around quarter horses, and he and his wife have regularly attended public auctions at Keeneland in Lexington.

            The Millers themselves handle most of the chores on the farm, which features 10 broodmares and two retired horses that graze in view of a bed and breakfast, which is also part of the property.

            Karyn Pirrello brought Golden Works, a $7,000 Banker’s Gold mare, to Rosecrest while she was in foal to Into Mischief. The Millers soon purchased a half-interest in Goldencents, who was one of just five foals on the farm in 2010.
