The chats will continue through Preakness Day, May 15. The meet ends the following weekend.
“We are excited about this opportunity to grow our fan base and adapt to the new media that is taking over,” said Maryland Jockey Club president Tom Chuckas. “Horse Player NOW has had success in boosting the handle at Churchill Downs during its 2009 fall meet and is currently working with XpressBet for high-profile stands at Santa Anita, Gulfstream and Keeneland. This partnership will prove beneficial to the track brand as well as the bottom line, which is increased wagering.”
Horse Player NOW utilizes live chat technology in hosting an interactive experience capable of accommodating tens of thousands of participants simultaneously. The race-day chats will be accessed at www.pimlico.com, www.preakness.com, www.xpressbet.com and/or www.HorseplayerNOW.com and will begin 30 minutes before the first race. The discussions will continue throughout the racing program until the final race of the day.
