BALTIMORE, MD 04-01-2009 ---The Maryland Jockey Club announced today that Bud Light has been named the official presenting sponsor of the Preakness InfieldFEST at Pimlico Race Course on Saturday, May 16, 2009.The famed Preakness® Stakes, the middle jewel of thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown, is the largest single day sporting event in the State of Maryland with attendance figures topping six-figures in nine of the last 10 years, including a record 121,263 in 2007.
Plans for Preakness InfieldFEST were unveiled February 5. The day will feature a concert with three rock performances, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers ZZ Top, Grammy-nominated Buckcherry and Maryland’s #1 Rock Band, Charm City Devils, along with a pro beach volleyball tournament and an interactive experience, including virtual NASCAR racing, prior to the running of the $1 million Preakness.

The 2009 Preakness InfieldFEST Presented by Bud Light will be an event in itself with live music, entertainment and a variety of food and beverage concessions. To drive awareness of the partnership, Bud Light has developed a turn-key retail program flexible enough to bring to all retail accounts. The program offers a "text to win" and internet component prominent on all point of sale in six state market areas: Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and features the Grand Prize: the Bud Light-Preakness VIP Experience for four, as well as Bud Light Prize Packs secondary prizes.
