Harry and Snowman Screening to Benefit TAA and Komen Maryland May 11

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Jockey Club and the Maryland Horse industry Board will play host to a special advance screening of the heart-warming documentary Harry and Snowman as well as selections from the EQUUS Film Festival Winner’s Tour on Wednesday, May 11 at The Senator Theatre.
 
Tickets for the special screenings are $15. Harry and Snowman will screen at 7 p.m. while the EQUUS films will show from 5-7 p.m. and 9-11 p.m. The evening benefit the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance and Komen Maryland. The EQUUS Film Festival is held annually in New York and showcases equine-themed films from around the world. The Festival is held Nov 17-19 this year.

Harry and Snowman, a film by Ron Davis, tells the story of Harry deLeyer, a Dutch immigrant who travels to the U.S. after World War II and rescues a plow horse for $80. The horse, christened Snowman, goes on to win the Triple Crown of show jumping, appears on television shows in the 1960s, and was the subject of the 2011 best-selling book, The Eighty-Dollar Champion.
